Kateryna Henness wrote this piece in a traditional style, combining traditions of modern orthodox music with some early catholic chants. Sacred music of the neighboring Ukrainian area influenced the style. Some listeners may hear a bit of Stravinsky; some may catch the echo of Arvo Part.
